Welcome to the Doghouse

Oh, Oliver Crowley opened the gate,
But my access? None! Not even a state!
So Kirsty swooped in, a hero in sight,
With Doghouse guest Wi-Fi — oh, what a delight!

My mouse wouldn’t work, oh bother and blip!
The desks here are glossy, a slippery trip.
A mousemat I need, perhaps two or three,
For clicking and scrolling and sanity’s plea!

I forgot my belt! My pens! My pad!
My keyboard too — how terribly bad!
A cardboard box I’ll find someday,
To store my clothes in a basement bay.

The stairs, oh my stars, they climb so high!
Three floors of puff, I nearly did cry.
But when I arrived — oh, what a spread!
Biscuits and chocolates and crisps instead!

Strawberries too, from Doghouse delight,
A sugary welcome to start things right.
But the Wi-Fi danced a troublesome tune,
Connecting by lunchtime — maybe, or soon.

It’s chilly up here, I need a fleece,
While drilling outside destroys the peace.
Each clatter and bang from the street below,
Adds rhythm to work (though slower to go).

I’ll fetch my keyboard, perhaps my bike,
To haul more things that I actually like.
The Doghouse is warm in its quirky way —
A fine new home to work and play.

So welcome, Ben, to your office abode,
Where chocolate and chaos share the road.
For though it’s drafty and Wi-Fi’s thin,
The Doghouse life is where you begin!
